Are you having problems logging to Capella?

Staff with course editing rights may not be able to view all options within the course editing pages (html editor) using web browsers other than Internet Explorer 7 and above, or Firefox 3 and above.
 

Please follow the login instructions below :-

Note that the password is case sensitive. If you continue to have problems logging in, please contact the Capella Administrator by email (Marion.bertuzzo@capel.ac.uk) or telephone (08456 122 122 - extension 313).

Student Login (for new students):

USERNAME: student number
PASSWORD: student number

New students will not be able to log in from home until they have first activated their Capella account from a computer in the College.

Student Login (for returning students):

USERNAME: student number
PASSWORD: surname + student number (lower case with no spaces, hyphens or apostrophes).

For current and returning students, your Capella password is synchronised with your login password on the Capel Student Network. Therefore if you wish to change your Capella password, you need to come into any college centre, login to a Student PC (using your existing password) and then press CTRL , ALT and DELETE on the PC, to display the Change Password window. Once you have updated your password, you must use this new password for both logging into both Capella and the Capel Student Network.

Former Student Association Login:

USERNAME:  surname + first 2 letters of first name (no space)
PASSWORD: your membership number

Staff Login (for new Staff):

USERNAME:  surname
PASSWORD: as provided by the person the staff is reporting to.

On the Staff Network the password is not synchronised with the Capella Account so to change the password on Capella simply click on your name top right corner of the Capella website and then click "change password" and this will let you change the password.

PLEASE NOTE:- Capella automatically logs out users who close the web browser running it. This means that if you are using Internet Explorer and if you open up a document from Capella (by clicking on any file link which usually opens in a new window) and close the Capella website window, then Capella automatically logs you out. So to make sure that you are still logged on to Capella it is important to keep the Capella page running in the background while working on your documents.
