There can be several reasons for not being able to logon from Home .

1) Check to see if your computer's firewall is stopping you from accessing the Capella website. To do this, Click on "Start", then "Control Panel", then double click "Windows Firewall" and then check the settings on each tab.

2)Also on web browser add the "capella.capel.ac.uk" web address to the "allowed" list. If you are using Internet explorer then follow these steps:-

a) Select the "Tools" from the menu options on Internet Explorer (IE). Then select "Internet Options" (which opens a new window/ box), then select "Privacy".

b) Select "Sites" from the new window which in turn will open another new window, then enter the address "capella.capel.ac.uk" into the box under the name:- "Address of website" and click on "Allow" button. Then click Ok on both boxes.

c) Now refresh the web page (if capella website is running) or re-enter the capella address to your web browser.

System Requirements for running Capella:

1) Ideally Internet Explorer or Firefox 3.xx. Please note that staff with course editing rights may not be able to view all options within the course editing/ html blocks using web browsers other than Internet Explorer 7 or 8 and Fire Fox.
2) Operating System:- Ideally Windows XP (Professional and Home Editions), Windows Vista and Windows 7.
3) Internet Speed (for home users):- Ideally 54 mbps (6 MB) and above.
4) Computer Specifications:- Minimum 1 GB RAM to run images and graphics.

Please follow the below login instructions:-

Student Login (for new students):
USERNAME: student number
PASSWORD: student number or changed password

Staff Login (for new Staff):
USERNAME: surname
PASSWORD: As provided by the person the staff is reporting to.

New students will not be able to log in from home until they have first activated their Capella account from a computer in the College.

Student Login (for returning students):
USERNAME: student number
PASSWORD: surname + student number (lower case with no spaces, hyphens or apostrophes) or changed password

Former Student Association Login:
USERNAME: surname + first 2 letters of first name (no space)
PASSWORD: your membership number

Please Note:- password is case sensitive and so any letters used in the password must be in lower case.
